Our guide took us to the beautiful Kandy market in the heart of Sri Lanka. Amidst the thronging crowds, we discovered many stalls of deliciously colored spices. The air was heavy and moist. It was permeated with their enchanting, sometimes animal scents. We approached a small stall of finely peppered cinnamon. These curious ochre sticks crumpled in our hands and happily delivered their warm, vanilla and fruity effluviums, which curiously transported us to the scents of past Christmases...

Fruit and spices: almond, orange, cinnamon, double chord

Each of our HAROLD & MAUDE candles is made from 100% natural waxes, no mineral wax, so no petroleum-derived paraffin, and the perfumes we use are all guaranteed to be free of CMR and phthalates.

In the first use and after cutting the wick (about 5 mm), let the candle burn until the entire surface has become liquid! The size of the candle is large, this may require about 4 hours of combustion, (expect it). This step will prevent the wax from burrowing and permanently forming a crater around the wick.

The wax may not completely melt on one edge of your candle. (The casting of our candles and the laying of our wicks are done one by one, by hand, and therefore are never centered to the millimeter.) In this case, just before extinguishing it, gently use the tip of a knife to lift and slide this small crescent of soft wax into the liquid wax.

Use your HAROLD & MAUDE candle with delicacy! After cooking, each of the ceramic pots has received a matte finish, not enamelled. This beautiful velvety finish may be sensitive to small scratches when handled incorrectly.

Beyond a room of more than 40m2, and for a better diffusion of the perfume, we advise you to burn two candles of the same perfume, well away from each other.

Before each lighting, cut the wick so that it does not exceed 5 mm. Use a special wick cutter to avoid scratching the ceramic.

Use a fire extinguisher to extinguish it, to prevent black smoke and drowning of the wick.If necessary, aim there gently with the edge of your wick cutter or the tip of a knife while the wax is still soft.
