Native to western Asia, the almond tree has been cultivated for 5,000 years. Between February and March, the buds open and form beautiful white and light pink flowers.
While the trees are in bloom, the honey bees gather pollen and nectar from the orchards. When the bees travel from one tree to another, they pollinate the flowers of the almond trees along the way. The almond tree is an excellent honey plant, rich in nectar and pollen. Each fertilized flower will give birth to an almond.
