Velvet Splendour is like holding a large bouquet of sun-burned wildflowers in both arms and gently squeezing their faces. An Impressionist painting of a long drive through an open, windy and cloudless countryside.

The mimosa (wattle) tree blooms, marking the first sign of spring in Australia. The soft yellows stand out against the blue sky. The first breath is an immediate mixture of green stems, yellow flowers, fresh air and warm light. Bold, sensual and glamorous.
