Renaissance Captain Giovanni Dalle Bande Nere, with his loyalty, Spartan lifestyle, and moral commitment, inspired this creation.  Imagine the smell of a military camp: the sweetness of wild shrubs, the smoke of the campfire, the smell of leather horse nails. A powdered rose, symbol of her secret mistress, completes an intense heart of vetiver, the great protagonist of this perfume.

NOTES: sagebrush, caraway, honey, Bulgarian pink, narcisse, iris butter, beeswax, cedar wood, vetiver, patchouli, oak mousse, leather.

It is a perfume extract, to be used sparingly because the concentration is 25%. It has a great longevity (12 hours on average).

The inspiration behind The Black Knight

The Black Knight is a gothic, intense and sophisticated fragrance inspired by the historical character Giovanni Dalle Bande Nere (Jean des Bandes Noires), an Italian condottiero (mercenary captain) of the Renaissance who belonged to the glorious family of the Medici.

I was seduced by this character for his stoic commitment to his cause, his loyalty and his Spartan lifestyle - despite his noble origins.

The fragrance attempts to depict the atmosphere of a military camp, beginning with the smell of wild shrubs, followed by the smoke of the campfire and the smell of horse nails. 

Evolution then sinks into the soul of this severe character, revealing the presence of a secret mistress, with a powdered rose completing the deep heart vetiver.

I did not add typical animal notes, because the vetiver intensity, combined with the smoky character of the leather, was already present.

I wanted to combine the intransigent and human aspects of this fascinating character in a dark, medieval and meditative scent.
