In the south of Tuscany, you approach an enchanting bay by walking through the most beautiful and intoxicating Mediterranean vegetation. Your skin is warmed by the warmth of the southern sun, but you are invigorated by the refreshing salty smell of the sea.
Notes: Bergamot, green mandarin, grapefruit, petit grain, basil, caraway, immortal, jasmine, iris root, musk, amber gris, labdanum, vetiver, oak moss.
It is a perfume extract, to be used sparingly because the concentration is 25%. It has a great longevity (12 hours on average).
The making of Etruscan water
The inspiration for Etruscan water comes from two different sources. The first is a personal memory: having been born and raised in Tuscany, we could go to the beach in the south of the region, where our ancestors, the Etruscans, lived hundreds of years ago.
To access the most amazing little bays, well hidden and offering the most transparent water, you had to walk 30 minutes through the woods.
These woods are full of wonders! The smell of the typical Mediterranean vegetation is charming and, if you are lucky (or unlucky...), you can fall on a wild boar - or even on remnants of Etruscan civilization.
The salty and refreshing smell of the sea soothes you from the heat of the sun that warms your skin.
The second source of inspiration is my personal research on perfumery masterpieces, as I was recently intrigued by the classic citrus-based masculine cologne - not the lightest, but those with a well-tempered character.
This is the first version of the FREEFALL line, which opens the way to new directions in my work.
The performance by Chester Gibs
“The Time Bomb
Your life has come
People can come, people can leave
As long as the water is slow
But be careful when you are
On the way to the waterfall
The land is only to one love
A warm sun and a place to lie down
I see your future
The water above you is calm and clear
People can come, people can leave
As long as the water is slow
But be careful when you are
On the way to the waterfall”
Etruscan Water by Francesca Bianchi reminds me of many of my first "masculine" perfumes that I bought when I was a teenager. Ikebana by Silvia Barucci inspired by the fragrance Etruscan Water by Francesca Bianchi.
and these perfumes were for me the beginning of a dive into new waters: adulthood, love, sex, romance, adventure.
I have always enjoyed disguising myself - and in this drawing I made wearing and sniffing the Etruscan Water, I represented the young me, undressing himself as he prepares to enter new unknown waters.
This is a beautiful Ikebana that Silvia Barucci created to represent my Etruscan water.
I love the combination of flowers, white and green, the transparent vase, the flower in the water, and the beautiful stone background, reminiscent of Etruscan tombs, and also, in a way, the salty part of the perfume.
